OUR CERTIFICATIONS

is a company certified ISO 9001 working in the shipbuilding industry with deep experience in setting, maintenance and repair of equipment, components and systems, marine and industrial.

The Cooperative was established in 2001 by twenty-four former employees of a historic company in La Spezia who, for reasons of corporate restructuring, had decided to mobilize part of its workers.

The company is known in the shipbuilding industry and the high level of professionalism that comes from the knowledge and experience of those same workers and technicians who had contributed largely to the image of seriousness and competence of the company from which they came.

Our factory is located in Follo Greti Location of San Martino, inland from La Spezia.

The immediate proximity to the entrance of the highway, located at the junction Parma- Genoa-Livorno, allowing quick connections to Cantieri Navali of Clients, allowing timely intervention and speedy deliveries.

Inside of the establishment of the Cooperative are the workshop mechanics and technical and administrative offices, thus keeping the production processes in close liaison with the management.

The plant has a covered area of 1500 square meters, and has an area of 4500 square meters waterproof.

 

Almarina started in this sector in 2001, but we come from a historic company of La Spezia which has operated in the naval sector since 1958. From this company we have inherited all the technical know-how which has allowed us to realize not only the maintenance and the construction of propulsion, steering and auxiliary systems of ships but also the design, introducing to the company new resources (naval architects) which, in cooperation with our technical personnel, have found new advanced solutions and reliability which have made product quality our strongest point. Due to our reliability level and achieved product quality, we are mentioned as suppliers/fitters of plants/equipment installed on submarines of the Marina Militare under construction at Fincantieri in La Spezia. In particular we have done the mechanical works of the steel plates of the hull of the two boats, the X rudders and hydroplane, air outlet valves and sea water intake, rudder basements and shaft line, warping capstans, structural hull basements, garbage, dismounting and remounting of shaft lines and propellers, mechanical works on board. We have acquired specific experience with the special metals used for such types of boat.
Using the company’s flexibility / adaptability, although specialized in the naval area, 20% of our production is dedicated to the oil and gas market, for which we realize particular mechanical activities for on-job works of swarf removing done with portable equipment design and built by us. We are also capable of realizing metal and pipe works in prefabrication and on-site on different types of plants including those made with special steel. A special part of the core business of our company, apart from intervening in a very short time, is the capability of solving our client’s problems. For this reason we have changed the special machinery inherited from the previous company for the on-site swarf removing, such as reaming, turning, milling, drilling and others, and some of them are now similar to numerical control portable machines for works with high precision levels for very big manufactures. Almarina is the leading company of the ATI Vespucci, therefore it has the responsibility of coordinating the companies, verifying design and its applicability on board, and of the design of propulsion system itself, steering system and plants in general. The refitting activities go from works technologically old but necessary for the maintenance of the original configuration of the Vespucci ship, such as nailing of the hull, hand made steel works and restoration of different parts, from wood to mechanical. The design started with simple equipment such as aft door movement systems - side doors - side openable wings for ship maneuvering, essential small wheelhouse for high-end motor yachts has led us to design more complex equipment such as aft doors for military units, military boat towing systems in particular sea conditions, movements of large hatches in sync with the handling of tenders and various nautical accessories.
